Hello, and welcome to the Brentwood Brewing Company!
A brief history of where it all began can be traced back to one of those 'propping up the bar' conversations between Brewery founders Dave Holmes and Roland Kannor back in 2005. Whilst supping a pint or three - 'we can do better than this!' we decided whilst drinking something or other! So after a year of 'research' ( hic!!!) the Brentwood Brewing Company was founded on 4th July 2006 on a 5BBL capacity plant in Navestock, Brentwood, Essex.
After a few months of production of our launch beer - 'Summer Virgin' ( recently winner of the 2007 Chelmsford CAMRA Beer Festival ! ) - further fermenters were added to our plant enabling us to brew 3 times per week to meet an ever increasing demand as word spread of a new brewery producing quality local ale!
The addition of further ales has seen us achieve a current portfolio of 16 different ales, with 6 regularly available.
(See 'Ales' page)
2007 has seen the brewery grow in recognition, with distribution increasing locally direct from the Brewery, as well as nationally through distributors. The accolade of Beer of the Festival at the CAMRA Chelmsford Summer Beer Festival 2007 against some 300 other ales was a huge achievement after only our first year in existence.
Not content with standing still, we have welcomed Sophie deRonde to the team as assistant Brewster - and gained a business partner in Jason Jopson - with whose business expertise we are now operating in a new Brewery in Brentwood with a 3000 litre capacity which will enable us to produce around 60 casks per brew, (that's up to 4,320 pints, twice per week - that's nearly 9,000 pints of ale each week!).
(Keep an eye on the photo's page for a photo diary of the new brewery being born - also the Brewery page)
We have also joined the ranks of SIBA (Society of Independent Brewers) and have signed up to the DDS (Direct Delivery Scheme) which will allow us to make our ales available to pub's belonging to pubco groups such as Enterprise, Punch and Admiral. We are also now offering 'guest ales' from other Brewers - call to see what we have!
2008 saw us launch a new Ale in conjunction with Essex FM's 'Essex Kids' Charity fronted by 'Martin & Sue and the Morning Crew' on their weekday breakfast show! See web page for more details of this exciting collaboration.
We have also now acquired all the required equipment to fully supply beer festivals and outside bars at events - racking, taps, cooling jackets and chillers - so if you want to arrange a beer festival, we can not only supply the beer, but the equipment, set-up and staff if required! Give us a call and leave it to us!!!
We are committed to making our ales available locally throughout Essex - and providing local pub's with a local product. Being a local brewery, we can keep delivery miles to a minimum, reducing the carbon footprint which is increasingly topical and welcomed by consumers, a fact of which we are mindful. Our wider distribution is done in bulk by distributors, again ensuring minimal carbon impact. The new Brewery itself, being a bespoke built plant, is modern and energy efficient.
We are looking forward to the future, and hope you will be able to find a pint of BBC Ale in a pub near you!
....If you cant - ask your local publican to give us a call - or tell us and we'll get in touch
