Very Special Brew

Head Brewer, Ethan Kannor, has just produced a very special beer indeed, Brentwood Brewing Company’s one thousandth brew.

MD Roland Kannor said:  “These are exciting times for the brewery.  Who would have thought from a daft idea in a pub, we’d be proudly celebrating our thousandth brew nine years later.  We felt it was fitting for this milestone brew to make what we started out with, our award-winning Summer Virgin.”

With help from Assistant Brewer Mike Holmes and Gerry Harrington from Navestock, who picked a lucky day to enjoy his Brewery Experience Day with us, the latest batch of Summer Virgin is now in the fermenter and will be ready to drink in a couple of weeks’ time.

Gerry said:  “My wife Lynne bought me a Brentwood Brewery Experience Day as a birthday gift.  It’s been an interesting day and I’m proud to have been involved in the thousandth brew.   I’m also looking forward to collecting my 18 pints of Summer Virgin when it’s ready.”

Summer Virgin 4.5% ABV won Beer of the Festival at Chelmsford Summer Beer Festival in 2007 and Colchester Summer Beer Festival in 2010.  It is a light, golden beer with citrus notes and the aromatic hops used gives the beer a range of fruit flavours.

Looking to the future, Ethan Kannor said:  “We always strive to be innovative and have plenty of ideas for new brews.  My latest creation, Ethan’s Marvellous Medicine, is a completely new concept in beer drinking.  It should be ready in the Summer, so watch this space.”
