Burton Ale Beer for March

For a wonderful step back in time, look out for our Burton Ale 4.8% ABV.  A traditionally brewed beer in the ‘Burton’ style following the age-old Burton recipe.  It’s the brewery’s Beer for March.

This style of beer has its roots in the 18th century when, at the height of popularity, brewers from Burton on Trent made their fortunes exporting about 70% of production to Russia and the Baltic.  It was popular in London and throughout the UK too.  Back then it was strong at about 12% ABV and kept very well for several years.  Although a sweet brew, it had a reputation for making people want to fight.  Thankfully the latter day versions aren’t so strong.  Ours is more about the taste and as you know, we’re lovers not fighters here.  Love Beer, Love Brentwood.
