This new festival has been organised by the council to celebrate Southend-on-Sea’s maritime heritage.

Over the weekend of Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th June a nautically themed programme of entertainment awaits with such attractions as live music, celebrity chefs, cookery demonstrations, sandcastle making and the chance to have a go at rowing.  There’ll be dancing, sea shanty singing as well as fisherman telling tales, no doubt of the ones that got away.  Plus the opportunity to try some seaside arts and crafts.

Of course there’ll be a huge array of food and drink to tempt you including our beer.  You will find the Brentwood Beer Tent on Southend Pier.  Our Summer Virgin goes particularly well with crab and all seafood and Brentwood IPA teams up nicely with traditional fish and chips and is especially good with fish pie.  Even if you don’t like seafood or fish, whatever your favourite food, be assured we really do have a ‘beer for that’.

What could be finer?  Sipping a super Brentwood Beer whilst dipping your toes in the briney at Southend-on-Sea and soaking in all the entertainments of this special seaside festival.
